Iron-Door Halfling

Shortest and stockiest of the Halflings the Iron-Door Halfling are considered to be one of the friendliest and warm-hearted races of Zith. They also have generally darker skin compared to other halflings and curlier hair.

Living in traditional grassy burrows in the rolling hills of western Visloshell this race has long found a peaceful home amidst their reclusive neighbors (Fire Dwarves and Freckle Gnomes). Sometimes called “Stockle Halflings,” this group possesses a healthy sense of humor, a keen devotion to ale, and a strong tie with nature. Some believe this race has a bit of gnomish blood which makes them a bit sharper in their wit than other halflings. Most Stockle Halflings do not go out seeking adventure and those that do will have a warm and happy home to think upon when times are rough.

Culture: Most Iron-Door Halflings live in rural communities organized loosely by a Count. The Count controls his county by having a house which has an iron-door (thus the name). This Count simply institutes small taxes in order to ensure roads and other small civic functions are kept in order. Stockle Halflings do not usually have standing armies but they are known to organize militias when threatened. This race distrusts any race that proves to be uncivilized or mean. Otherwise, Stockle Halflings can get along with about anyone as long as they are treated well.
